Intimate Waterford Castle Wedding, Ireland | Evy + Jason

Ireland has long been on my list of places to visit, and having the opportunity to capture a couple’s love there, made the experience even better. Evy and Jason chose to have a Waterford Castle Wedding. This beautiful castle is located on its very own island, just off the River Suir. A short ferry ride over revealed the castle boasting beautiful architecture and steeped in history. It was the perfect setting for an intimate and romantic wedding with a traditional, warm and friendly atmosphere.

It was very important to Jason and Evy that they marry at the St. John Baptist Church located in Crooke, Waterford, which was located right by the ocean. On our way over to the Church, we learned about the famous saying “By Hook or by Crook” meaning ‘by any means necessary’ and I suppose this was fitting since on our way to the ceremony a light bit of rain started.

While a beautiful exchange of vows took place, the rain subsided so we ventured out for some time alone in the beautiful Irish landscape. Ireland is breathtaking and it was a pleasure to photograph this couple’s love there. We made our way back to Castle for an intimate dinner by candlelight, heartfelt words from friends and family, followed by an evening of dancing to Celtic favorites.
